Acolytes

Altar Guild members are central to our worship. They care for the altar linens, vestments and Eucharistic vessels.
They prepare the Sanctuary for all regular services as well as special services such as baptisms and weddings.
Ambassadors and Greeters meet newcomers at Sunday services, making them feel welcome and comfortable during the coffee hour. Parish Growth follows up with those who indicate they want additional information about the parish.
The Building and Grounds Committee cares for the normal continuing maintenance and operational items, a number of special projects and periodic work parties.
The Disciplined Order of the Cross is a support group committed to encouraging spiritual growth through a discipline of prayer and scripture reading. The DOC also sponsors an annual parish retreat at Mt. Calvary, Santa Barbara.
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is for all women in the parish. Both daytime and evening meetings provide opportunities for fellowship. Also, the ECW sponsors fundraising activities for various church projects.
Episcopal Young Church People
Known as the EYC, our young people (Junior High and High School age) gather regularly to discuss important issues and engage in service projects. We also have lots of fun. As we plan activities, we are mindful of our three guiding lights: Spirituality, Social Activities and Service

Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors Eucharistic Ministers and our Lector Ministry empower members of the congregation to participate in worship services, assist in the reading the word and take communion to homebound members. HospitalityAs you would expect, we love to talk and laugh and share around a table of delicious goodies and coffee after church. There is always plenty to go around. Missions Our parish family supports the larger ecumenical efforts of the church through our pledge to the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and through the individual missionary ministries of the Park family in Peru, and Fr. John Habecker in El Salvador - all with our prayers and financial assistance. We are also members of local ecumenical group in Arcadia. Outreach ProgramThe Outreach Program seeks to increase the parish awareness and sensitivity to the human condition out side our church doors and to alert them to the needs of that larger community. Specific ministries we support through our time and talent are: · The Door of Hope, helping homeless families restore their independence and dignity.
· Friends Outside, working to help prisoners and their families.
· The Unity Center, bringing food and other necessities to the poor and homeless in our community.
· Haven House, offering shelter and a chance for new lives to victims of battering and domestic abuse.
· Crop Walk, working to end hunger at home and around the world. St. Francis ChoirMusic is one of the special features of worship at Transfiguration. The St. Francis Choir is under the direction of an Organist/Choirmaster.
