Text Box: INVITATION FROM ST. LUKE’S MONROVIA  We have been invited to the annual Women's Evensong Invitational which will be sung by the women of the St. Luke's Choir, along with invited guests.  Betsy Kardos is the cantor.  It is Sunday, March 21, 2010, 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 122 South California Avenue, Monrovia.
Music will include Gerald Near's Phos Hilaron, Anglican chant Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, and Michael Haydn's Domine Deus.  A freewill offering will be taken, and there will be a wine and cheese reception in Guild Hall afterwards.

THANK YOU
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who worked so hard to make the Carolyn Wyma Memorial Service so very special. We are so appreciative to all who helped set up and take down tables, outdoor heaters, and chairs, those who provided table decorations, the food servers, those who made/donated the delicious deserts, those who provided drinks and ice, those who coordinated all these mentioned activities, the acolytes, the choir and director, the soloist, the lay readers, the ushers, and especially the beautiful homily and service by Mother Julie.
God bless all of you. The Wyma Family

HOT CROSS BUNS EYC will be taking orders for home-baked hot cross buns to serve with your Good Friday meal. They will be ready for pick-up at the Palm Sunday services.  You can order one for $1, six for $5, or a dozen for $8.  To order, see any Youth Group member or you can call the office.  Proceeds will go towards EYC activities, with a tithe to Outreach Ministry.

THANK YOU to all members of the church, who helped set-up, shopped, baked, arranged flowers, and cleaned the parish hall and kitchen for the Carolyn Wyma Memorial reception.  Great job!!! Fantastic helpers.

REMINDER to everyone:  please remember to use caution when driving through the parking lot during the week and on Sunday mornings, taking extra care to watch for our precious little ones.  Thank you.

DONATIONS FOR EASTER LILIES are $8.00 and interested persons can see Linda Hughes on Sunday, call her at (626) 438-8173 and leave a message, or email her at imlhughes@gmail.com or imlhughes@yahoo.com.

LENTEN FORUMS MARCH 21  We wind down the Rector's January Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The trip began in the Galilee, and then moved on to Bethlehem and Jerusalem and the surrounding area. Please join us at 9:15 for a virtual tour and discussion.

PRIME TIMERS
Tickets are now on sale for the play “SQUABBLES” at the Glendale Centre Theatre on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.  We will carpool from the church parking lot at 1:30 p.m.  Tickets cost $18.00 and must be purchased no later than April 1st or they will be returned.  Please make out your check to the church with a memo “Prime Timers” and give it to the church office or to Harvey Wyma. Those interested will have dinner after the show.

FOOTHILL UNITY CENTER provides vital assistance to help those in crisis to become self sufficient. A majority of their clients are children or seniors -- people who are the most vulnerable and least able to help themselves.
Therefore, please bring to the church donation basket travel-sized toiletries (soap, lotion, shampoo, etc.); protein-rich foods, jars of peanut butter, canned tuna, stews, chili, canned fruit, SpaghettiOs, etc.; dry box entrees (such as Mac & Cheese); single-serving flip-top cans of tuna, Spam, Vienna sausages, etc.; as well as your clean, gently used (recycled) plastic bags for packing items.  And, as a reminder, your check placed in the donation box on the cart handle is also very much appreciated.  Thank you!

OUTREACH FOR HAVEN HOUSE  Lent is Haven House season, when we seek to provide for the women and children who have fled from domestic abuse situations, and are receiving shelter as they prepare for new lives free of suffering. Each week of Lent, we will concentrate on collecting new items of a different sort.

Lent 5, Week of March 21
DVD/VHS tapes, disposable cameras, baseball caps, small kitchen appliances

Lent 6 (Palm Sunday)
Easter baskets & grass, plastic eggs and egg dye, cellophane, candy, Easter coloring books, picture frames, small gift items for women (Easter)
Whatever you meant to bring before but didn’t
