Bishop Bloy and "Fr. Bill" @ 1970

Requiescat

Affectionately known as "Father Bill", John William Daum was rector of Transfiguration for over 32 years before retiring in 1995.  He relocated to Castro Valley, California, where he had lived for the past several years. He was 84, and had been in poor health for some time.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Corinne Leatherman Daum; sons Bryn (Meleen) and Garrett (Lizette), and three grandchildren, Kalyn, Serena and Aubrey. His eldest son, Kevin, died in 2005.

Service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Arcadia on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 2 p.m.  The Rt. Rev. Chet Talton, retired bishop, Suffragan, will preside with the Rev. Julie Bryant, rector of Transfiguration.  The Rev. Susan Scranton, rector of Grace Church Glendora will preach.  A reception in the parish hall will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Church of the Transfiguration, which has established a memorial fund in Daum's name.

The full obituary is here.
